The police in St Catherine are continuing their search for three of four gunmen who engaged them in a shoot-out yesterday.

One of the gunmen was shot and killed during the encounter.

Dead is Oteno Chambers, 22-year-old labourer, of St Johns Road, Spanish Town, St Catherine.

Reports are that about 6 p.m., a police party accosted a car with men who committed a robbery. A shoot-out ensued between the police and the gunmen. During the shoot-out, it is said that one of the gunmen was believed to have been hit.

When the vehicle stopped at St Johns Road, three of the criminals ran. The vehicle was searched and Chambers' body was found .

The Independent Commission of Investigations has since started a probe into the matter.
