Former editor of THE STAR Claire Grant has been appointed general manager of Television Jamaica (TVJ).

In a statement released yesterday, the RJR Communications Group announced that the appointment will become effective September 1.

Grant has had a career in media, working as a journalist with The Gleaner Companyuntil she became editor of THE STAR. She joined Television Jamaica six years ago as marketing and sales manager for TVJ.

She has a first degree in history and social sciences, a masters in international journalism, a masters in business administration and is at present a candidate for a doctorate in business administration at the Mona School of Business.

She replaces Kay Osborne, who resigned earlier this year.
