Accepting God's call |

![]() ![]() GEORGE HENRY, STAR Writer Pastor Sharon Jones has spent the past 16 years ministering to people. Despite having experienced ups and downs, Jones told THE STAR that she was happy that God always worked everything out in her favour. "During the rough times, that's the time I begin to pray and fast more because God is pulling me towards whatever He wants me to do for Him. Sometimes, during the bad times, that's when God calls us to pray more and to seek His face more so that He can pull what He wants out of us," explained the female pastor. Jones, who was in attendance at a four-day prayer service for Jamaica at the Fellowship Tabernacle Church in Kingston between August 1 and 4, along with Prophet O'Meal Reid, leader of People from Every Nation Ministries in Florida, stressed that God wants her to begin to speak life into people because the enemy has spoken death for a long time. Assist in their freedom This, is so, she said, because God wants persons like her to assist in their freedom so the He can bless, deliver, and set them free, and cancel the assignment which the enemy has over their lives. She believes she was called by God and is convinced that this is so because when she looked back over her life and saw everything that she had been through, she realised that she needed a change. "When I began to speak life over myself, I realised that God began to do some things in my own life, and what I prophesied over myself, it has begun to come to pass," said Jones, who is a strong believer in prophesy. Jones pointed out that she has prophesied to several persons that God would have done something different in their lives and would bless them with certain things, and these things have come to pass. She recalled prophesying that a particular pastor's mother was going to be delivered from a certain illness, and she received her healing. Jones, who works out of the Greater Rhama Full Gospel Baptist Church in New Iberia, Louisiana, USA, said it was very important that people of God be obedient to the Lord. She stressed that when God's people are obedient to Him, they continually receive their blessings. Listening to the voice of God "When we listen to the voice of God and do what He wants us to do, we can receive what Deuteronomy 20 talks about: the blessings of God. When we listen and obey the word of God, and when we line up with His word, God will not withhold any good thing from us," preached the female pastor. Jones surrendered her life to God when she was nine. Since then, she has been part of the church holding active positions. She admitted that at the time she started her prophetic ministry, she did not fully understand it. "I finally received the prophetic side of my ministry just since this year. I know it was there, but God began revealing more things to me during the first part of this year. It is not that I did not know, but I started accepting my calling as a prophet this year," said Jones. For those doubters who do not believe in prophetic ministry, Jones wants them to go back to the word of God, begin to pray, and ask God to reveal to them through a prophet what He wants them to do.
