Sylvan Reid, the People's National Party (PNP) councillor who was taken into custody last week, is to appear in court today.

Information reaching THE STAR is that the councillor has been charged with unlawful possession of property.

That property it is understood is a television set.

Reid was arrested at his home in Cornwall Courts, Montego Bay, by members of the Lottery Scam Task Force.

He is the councillor for the Salt Spring division.
