![]() $1M WORTH OF COWS STOLEN Rasbert Turner, Star Writer Operators of the Cherry Farm, near Old Harbour, St Catherine, are still counting their losses after gunmen invaded the property yesterday, and stole several heads of cattle valued at more than $1m. Reports are that about 12:30 a.m. yesterday the robbers drove on to the property in a truck. They set about loading 14 prized cows and two goats valued about $1.5m on to the truck. It was revealed to The Star that the criminals went to a cottage on the property where they robbed an employee of $30,000. After what The Star learnt was a three-hour ordeal, the hoodlums escaped. The farm has been a six-time award winning Jamaica Agriculture Society winner at the annual Denbigh Agricultural Show. Investigation is being conducted by the Old Harbour police. |
