Transport authority employee on corruption charge

A transport authority employee accused of soliciting money from a motorist was granted $100,000 bail when he appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court on Friday.

Charged with breaching the Corruption Prevention Act is Michael Frisk of a Corporate Area address.

The court was told that on Saturday, July 14 Frisk solicited $4,000 in order not to serve the due process on a motorist for a traffic offence.

He was arrested after collecting $2,000 from the motorist at his office.

He is schedule to appear in court again on August 7 when the matter will again be mentioned.

Frisk was ordered to give his fingerprint to the police, surrender his travel documents and reports to the Gordon Town police on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

The accused was represented by defence attorney Peter Champagnie.
