Teens arrested for Jamaican's murder

Two teenage suspects are among a group of five males held by Trinidadian law-enforcement officials for the killing of a Jamaican national in Marabella on Monday.

According to the Trinidad Express, the teens, aged 14 and 19, were held with the others on Tuesday at 4:30 a.m. while in their homes located in Marabella.

The deceased has been identified as Marcus Auld of a St Elizabeth address.

Trinidadian police, according to reports, say Auld was married and living at Tasker Road, Cashew Gardens, Carlsen Field, for the past five months.

Information gathered by THE STAR reveals that the police are being assisted in their investigations by a female relative.

According to reports, the police in the twin-island republic contacted Auld's relatives living in Jamaica, and they are expected to travel to Trinidad at their earliest convenience.

Reports on the incident are that 4:20 p.m. on Monday, the police say they received information that a man was seen pointing a gun at another man on Ramsamooj Street.

An eyewitness reportedly said the gunman bundled the victim into a white Nissan B-15 Sentra and sped off. Several minutes later, two loud explosions were heard.

Police went to Sooknanan Street to investigate and they found Auld by the roadside bleeding. He was taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead.
