Ex-ISCF commandant sentenced

Harold Crooks, the former commandant of the Island Special Constabulary Force, was yesterday given a two-year sentence suspended for three years when he appeared in the Home Circuit Court.

The 72-year-old was convicted on two counts of indecent assault on a minor earlier this month.

It was reported that in May 2010, Crooks left the island a day before he was to be interrogated by investigators from the Centre for the Investigation of Sexual Offences and Child Abuse in relation to the allegations.

It was reported that the former commandant was held by cops after he jumped from a cruise ship in Ocho Rios, St Ann.
