The St Catherine North police have taken three men into custody in connection with the seizure of two illegal firearms and several rounds of ammunition in Sligoville on Wednesday.

It is reported that the illegal items were seized during an operation.

The cops say a search of a building produced one 9mm Taurus pistol with seven cartridges and a 9mm Smith and Wesson pistol with six cartridges.

The names of the men taken into custody have not been released.

Investigations are ongoing.
