The King of the Dancehall, Beenie Man, was in his element at the second staging of the Behind The Screen series, held at the Tracks & Records lounge on Tuesday night.

At 11 p.m., Beenie Man took the stage and from start to finish, he did not disappoint his fans. Beenie Man reeled off hit after hit from his extensive catalogue of songs, including Frame I and I, Toy Friend, Memories, Wickedest Slam and Fed Up.

'The Doctor' Beenie Man kept the audience entertained and interacted with them throughout his set with a series of gimmicks and jokes.

Dancer John Hype, who has been off the scene for a while, was called on stage by Beenie Man for a mini dance off. Although John Hype tried his best to outdo 'The Doctor', he was no match for the deejay.

During his set, Beenie Man also paid tribute to incarcerated dancehall artiste Vybz Kartel. "Big up Kartel, even though you're incarcerated, you're still my deejay," Beenie Man told the crowd.

The artiste earned more 'forwards' from the crowd when he launched into hits such as Wickedest Slam and Red Red Red.

"Let me see the hands of all the girls who have one man," Beenie Man said. To the amazement of the crowd, only a few hands went up. "Let me see the hands of all the girls who have more than one man," this was met with screams and hands waving in the air.

Beenie Man then went into his more recent songs, which included I'm Drinkin, Dweet Again, Inna The Go-Go Club and Let's Go To The Beach.

The artiste ended the night with a cover of Redemption Song and was also presented with one of Usain Bolt's headsets from his 'Soul' line. Behind The Screen will continue next week with artiste Romain Virgo.
