Israel Yadalfi seeks musical breakthrough with 'Mr Myrie' |

Upcoming artiste Israel Yadalfi. - Contributed Moby's recording artiste, Anthony Campbell, better known as Israel Yadalfi, began honing his musical skills from an early age. His first interactions with music began in his childhood days in Clarendon as he was exposed to the sounds of the day while growing up. "As a little youth, I was exposed to a lot of music. While growing up, I heard the music of artistes like Bob Marley, Yellow Man, Tina Turner, and Michael Jackson at home. The talented singjay said he was influenced to pursue a musical career later on in life by his uncle Jessie Jendah, who was a member of Philip 'Fattis' Burrell's Exterminator camp in the mid-90s along with other artistes like Luciano and Sizzla. "As I grew up, I got deeply interested in music, and being around Uncle Jessie and his friends, naturally, my interest increased rapidly. I really loved the vibes I got when I watched them performing on events and you know Uncle Jessie always shout 'Israel! Israel!' during his act. When I began to write and perform my music, his friends began calling me Israel and I made up the Yadalfi part of my name, and that's how I came up with my stage name," he said. Yadalfi is currently enjoying much attention with his single titled Mr Myrie, which was done in tribute to incarcerated dancehall icon, Buju Banton. great icon "My single, Mr Myrie, is getting a lot of love all over the world. The people really love it. I did this song to pay respect to the great icon, Buju Banton. He is one of the artistes I really look up to, and he's truly one of the great artistes of these times. I was following his case through the media, and when he was sentenced, it really hurt me, so I wrote Mr Myrie to express the love I have for him as an artiste who has been influenced by him musically." Israel is also promoting a number of other singles including Money Crisis and Children Cry on the Children Cry rhythm, which also features songs from other artistes including Sizzla and Kashu. Both songs were produced by his manager, Ryan Singh, of Moby's Records. "Things are looking good for my career. Mr Myrie is opening up a lot of doors for me, and I have a number of other singles out on Moby's label that are doing well too. I am also working with several other producers including Cali Bud and Chin from Chiney K productions." |
