Three on motor vehicle charge remanded |

Two men and a woman who have been charged in connection with a stolen motor vehicle were remanded when they appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court on Friday. Kevin Bell, Lloyd Jackson, and Defatina Riley have been charged with larceny of motor vehicle, receiving stolen property, and conspiracy. Bell has pleaded guilty to receiving stolen property, however, Jackson and Riley have pleaded not guilty. They are to return to court on July 25, when the matter will be mentioned. Allegations are that on May 3, the complainant parked his 1991 Toyota Levin motor car at his gate and retired to bed, however, when he woke up he realised that it was missing. The matter was reported to the police and following investigations the motor car was allegedly found in Clarendon on a premises that was being occupied by the accused persons. It is alleged that several motor vehicle registration certificates, licence plates, and certificates of fitness were found in their possession. In addition, the court heard that the motor vehicle's engine and interior were tampered with. |
