A Sunday school teacher accused of fondling the breast of a 14-year-old girl was granted bail in the sum of $100,000 when he appeared in the Spanish Town Resident Magistrate's Court yesterday on a charge of sexual touching.

He pleaded not guilty. In applying for bail attorney-at-law Garth Taylor told the court his client is not a flight-risk and a Christian who will honour his obligations to the court.

Resident Magistrate Simone Maddix then granted bail on condition that the accused report to the Spanish Town Police Station three times per week, and return to court on September 7.

offered a ride

The allegation is that on Sunday, July 1, the accused offered the complainant a ride in his vehicle after Sunday school.

Upon reaching a section of the journey, he started to touch her on her breasts.

The child complained to relatives and the police were contacted and an investigation launched, this resulted in the teacher being charged.
