Big win for Jamaica at WICB Under-17 tourney |

Jamaica beat the Leeward Islands by eight wickets in round two of matches in the West Indies Cricket Board's (WICB) Under-17 tournament yesterday. Batsman Triston Coleman was the star for Jamaica in a match which was reduced to 20 overs per team. He scored an unbeaten 77 as Jamaica chased down 125 for victory losing two wickets in the process. Sent to bat at Bon Accord, Tobago, the Leeward Islands made 124 for five off their allotted overs. Saeed Williams, the son of former Leeward Islands and West Indies batsman Stuart Williams, scored 54 and Shawn Tuitt 39 while Michael Hurst, Fabian Allen and Rushane Manning took a wicket each for Jamaica. At Shaw Park, Trinidad and Tobago beat the Windward Islands by 63 runs. Scores: Trinidad & Tobago 169-7 off 50 overs: Brian Christmas 53, Camilio Carimbocas 27, Tion Webster 20 not out; Taryck Gabriel 10-0-32-3, Larry Edward 10-2-30-1. Windward Islands 106 all out off 41.1 overs: Gidron Pope 29, Roland Cato 18, Craig Phillip 12; Jovan Ali 8.1-4-12-3, Bryan Charles 10-3-9-2. At Louis D'or, Guyana clipped Barbados by eight runs. The game was reduced to 30 overs per side. Scores: Guyana 93-8 off 30 overs: Tagenarine Chanderpaul 56, Keemo Paul 11; Jerome Jones 6-3-7-0, Chad Williams 6-0-28-2. Barbados 85-8 off 30 overs: Joshua Drakes 28, Rosho Primus 18, Jerome Jones 13; Steven Sankar 6-1-17-4, Gudakesh Motie, 6-0-11-2.
