|
A man who appeared before the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court on Friday to answer charges of obtaining money by false pretence, was denied bail after the police said they had new evidence against him. Patrick 'Puppy' Thomas from a Kingston 13 address pleaded not guilty to the charge, and appeared surprised when the arresting officer claimed he had video evidence against him. The court was told that Thomas, who has been in custody since May 25, was held with a Florida Drivers' Licence and numerous credit cards. The crown alleges that it has video evidence of Thomas inside a hardware store carrying out transactions using the credit card. His lawyer argued that most of what was being mentioned in court about her client was new, as no such claims were on documents in her possession relating to the case. Senior Magistrate Judith Pusey enlightened the attorney as to the developments then remanded Thomas in custody and made a fingerprint order. The matter will again be mentioned on July 9. A date and location was also set for the attorney to view the alleged video of her client. |
