![]() Julian Plummer ![]() GEORGE HENRY, STAR Writer Julian Plummer is the youth president for the International Faith Christian Fellowship Church at Lauderdale Lake in Florida, USA. She was born in Montego Bay, St James, but grew up in Portmore, St Catherine. She has been on a journey for Christ; and according to her the journey has been an amazing one. She is convinced that everything that has taken place in her life has prepared her for each step she has taken with the Lord. "I am just looking forward to growing, and growing, and growing; because I am learning from every area of my life, because God has been so amazing and has been so good to me," said the youth president. Leadership Plummer, who said she grew up in the church at the Portmore New Testament Church of God under the leadership of Bishop W.A. Blair, starting from the Sunbeam choir at 13, explained that it was from there she kept growing in the Lord. When she surrendered her life to the Lord just over 24 years ago, she believed that she was not too young to serve God. She said this was because God called the Bible character Samuel at the age of 10. "One is never too young to serve the Lord; and that's why I take joy in serving God as president of the youth department in my church," said Plummer. Now youth president at her church for a little more than a year, Plummer said in order to keep her youth group focused on God and remain in the church she has to ensure that they are kept active. She highlighted having them involved in dance groups, choir, taking them out on various excursions, as some means of doing so. Favourite Bible verse Plummer's favourite Bible verse is 'I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me'. Her favourite song is 'He'll do it again', done by Shirley Caesar. She said that song gives her hope to know that whatever she has been through, God will keep on making ways out for her; because He is the same God yesterday, today and forever. Plummer's word for Jamaica is that we should trust in the Lord with all our heart, and lean not unto our own understanding. She wants Jamaica to acknowledge God in all ways, so that He can direct their path. "Don't matter what you do, just trust God. Do not leave Him out of anything; put your trust in Him and He will take care of everything else," suggested the young people president. Feedback: pehenrya@hotmail.com
