Dancehall star Aidonia intends to bring his 'A' game when he steps onstage at the Heineken Best of summer concert that gets under way at the Urban Development Corporation parking lot tonight in Kingston. The show will be headlined by top hip-hop artiste Rik Ross and will feature Masicka, Tifa, Potential Kidd and Aidonia, among the local acts. The 31-year-old deejay, who recorded his first single Many A Dem back in 2003, believes Heineken Best of Summer is the perfect medium through which to kick off the summer in fine style. "I want to bring an entertaining performance. It's the first big show for the summer so you have to make your mark," he said. "You have to make the world see why you are the best of Summer. I want to entertain the ladies, the crowd; I want everybody to enjoy themselves so in the end they can say Aidonia had one of the best performances on the night." The entertainer, who had the songs Lollipop and Chicken Heads among his breakout singles, feels the show is going to be special given the line-up of acts set to perform. "It's going to be a great show, with young prospects like Masicka and Tifa, the best female entertainer out there right now. It promises to be nice. I love the package," he said. He also expressed a lot of respect for the main act Rick Ross. "The boss; we respect his music. He is one of the best rappers out there right now. I view him as the big man of the moment. Love his music, love his work," he said. Still, he doesn't intend to be outshone by anyone on the night. The entertainer who has songs like Hundred Stab, Caribbean Girl, and Wine And Bubble, among his biggest hits, also plans to throw some new music at his adoring fans on the night. "I will be coming with some fan favourites as well as some new stuff that I am promoting right now," he revealed. "I want to come out, settle down and stand up like a big man onstage and perform for the people." |
