Stepdad on sexual assault rap set free |

Rasbert Turner, Star Writer The admission of a complainant that she lied that her stepfather had sexually molested her resulted in his freedom. The revelation took place on Wednesday in the Yallahs Resident Magistrate's Court in St Thomas. told her to lie The incident caused the presiding judge to scold the mother of the child. They were told that the matter would be sent elsewhere for it to be ventilated outside the court. THE WEEKEND STAR learnt that the complainant told the court that a relative told her to lie about the accused. It was revealed that an aunt of the child told her that for her to live with them in a Corporate Area community she must accuse the man. The stepfather was said to have warned her against going into the Corporate Area community and prevented her from going there. As a result, the then 10-year-old reported that she was sexually assaulted by the man. The man was arrested and kept out of the house as a condition of his bail. He was not represented when he appeared in court.
