The Monetego Bay police say they are still trying to ascertain a motive behind Wednesday night's gun slaying of 47-year-old Gary Anes, operator of a popular nightclub in the city. Anes was killed just outside the doors to his establishment along the Hip Strip. According to police reports, Anes and two other men were playing dominoes outside the club around 11:40 p.m., when a gunman walked up and opened fire. Further reports are that a policeman who was nearby intervened and challenged the gunman who managed to flee the scene in a waiting motor car. Anes, a resident of Mango Walk in Montego Bay, and Birmingham, England, was pronounced dead on arrival at the Cornwall Regional Hospital. Investigations are ongoing. |
