The Spanish Town courthouse erupted in laughter on Wednesday when a woman appeared before the court accused of stealing a high-powered vibrator. "Silence, order in the court, please be quiet, order," a policeman was forced to shout as the laughter continued. As the clerk of court outlined the allegations, the more he read, the more laughter erupted. "Woi this crucial," a policewoman whispered. "This wicked man." no vibrator stolen The attorney representing the accused woman, however, attempted to defuse the situation. "Your Honour, my instruction is that no vibrator was stolen," the lawyer told the court. The accused woman, who pleaded not guilty, was given an extension on her bail. She will return to court on October 22. Allegations are that the accused shared a house with the complainant, the court heard that between May 15 and June 3, a quantity of items, including gold chains, earrings and a five-speed vibrator valued at $19,000, was stolen from the complainant. The court was told that the total value of the items stolen is $300,000. A report was made to the Bridgeport Police Station and an investigation resulted in the accused woman being charged with larceny from the dwelling. |
