Western Bureau: It's a week since 15-year-old Mount Alvernia High School student Toni-Ann McKenzie has gone missing. Her family has grown increasingly worried and now fears the worst with each day they do not hear from her. According to the teen's grand-father, Carlton Clarke, the teen from Montego Bay was last seen on June 7, wearing her white and blue uniform when he took her to school. She did not return home that evening and it was then an alarm was raised as to her whereabouts. "She (Toni-Ann) lives with us, her grandparents. Her mother is abroad and we all enjoy a good relationship so it came as a shock to the family when she didn't come home. We are very worried and it is taking a toll on her grandmother, her mother, all off us. We jus want her to come home," a desperate Clarke told The STAR. The family received a huge surprise when they visited the school searching for answers to why Toni-Ann had gone missing. They say they learnt that she been suspended for two days from school was not scheduled to return until June 11. "I went up to the school the day after she went missing to get some information and was told that she was suspended and it was in effect from Thursday, June 7 - 11, but we knew nothing about this because she never gave us the suspension letter," the distraught grandfather said. Despite this, the family wants her to know that they have not turned their backs on her and want her to understand that they are there for her. "Her 15 year-old cousin who she grew up with cries for her every day, her mother, grandmother and me all want her to know that whereever she is our family, and we love her and that has not changed," Clarke appealed.
