J'can nabbed for brutally murdering sister |
|||||
A Jamaican man who was listed as one of America's most wanted after it is alleged that he used a chair to brutally murder his sister, has been nabbed by the police. Thirty-four-year-old Omar Cohall was arrested about two weeks ago at a homeless shelter in Richmond, Virginia. According to a New York Daily report, in an incident on March 3, Cohall is accused of locking his sister, Heather Wright, 42, inside their apartment. It is further alleged that she was beaten repeatedly with a chair until she died. Neighbours reported to New York City police that they had seen Cohall return home with his sister and their other brother Rojan around noon that day and all three seemed to be getting along fine. It wasn't until about an hour later that they started hearing a woman's scream coming from the apartment. It is understood that at some point Rojan left the apartment and returned to find the door locked. After hearing his sister's screams he climbed through a window with the help of a neighbour and found her lying on the floor covered in blood and the chair broken to pieces. Police say Cohall escaped through another window in the apartment. Interestingly, he was diagnosed with schizophrenia at the age of 19. |
