Ragashanti suspends Tambareen radio ... In an effort to revamp site and station

Ragashanti - File

Popular Jamaican radio talk show host Dr Kingsley 'Ragashanti' Stewart recently announced that he would be suspending his popular Tambareen radio programme until further notice.

The Internet and telecoms radio station and an accompanying website, Mix Up Yaad (mixupyaad.com), were started by Stewart in July 2011 shortly after his Ragashanti Live programme was booted from the airwaves last year when the Broadcasting Commission ordered the show be off-air due to alleged violations.

According to a post on Stewart's Facebook page, the operations of both will be discontinued as of Thursday, June 14, 2012, reason being "to initiate a total reconceptualisation and revamping of both the site and the station".

The post read: "I regret to inform you all that Mix Up Yaad (mixupyaad.com) and Tambareen Radio will suspend publishing and broadcasting from Thursday, June 14, 2012. This is in order to initiate a total reconceptualisation and revamping of both the site and the station. There is not yet a date on which the website and the station will restart. I sincerely thank you for your support over the time you were affiliated with us. I also regret any inconvenience this necessary move may cause."

different and improved

Stewart promised fans that upon their return there would be much improvement. "Look out for a different and improved Mix Up Yaad and Tambareen Radio in the future!"

Stewart's presence still remains active on the airwaves, however, as another part of the post shared that he will still be hosting his regular morning show, 'Ragashanti In Di Mawning' on Link Up Radio located in New York.

"I'll still be doing 'Ragashanti in di Mawning' on Link Up Radio, New York, WVIP 93.5 in the mornings from 5 a.m., to 10 a.m., US Eastern time. Tune in to Livestream at www.linkupradio.com, Blackberry listening at http://linkupradio.com/bb.html, or listen on your phone by dialing (832) 225 5349," the release read.
