The Mandeville police in Manchester had to rescue one of two men who were beaten severely after been spotted behaving strangely in a fast-food establishment in the parish.

Reports reaching THE STAR are that the men went into the establishment on Friday, and were observed by customers behaving in an "intimate" manner with each other.

They were attacked by an angry mob which decided to rain blows upon their bodies.

One of the men managed to elude the mob and escaped in a nearby area.

His friend was not so lucky and he was severely beaten. His only respite came when he was rescued by the police.

"Despite the status of the person, the police duty is to serve and protect. Therefore, we have to protect the citizen from further harm," a police personnel told THE STAR.

It is revealed that the man had to seek medical attention for his injuries.
