Former world-record holder Asafa Powell hopes to bounce back from what he considered a disappointing showing at the Rome Golden Gala meet, when he competes in Oslo, Norway, next week. Powell finished a good way behind his compatriot Usain Bolt, with a time of 9.91, and was far from a happy camper after the race. "I didn't hear 'Set' and I didn't hear 'Go'. I just came out the starting blocks with Kim Collins, that's all," Powell told gulfnews (http://gulfnews.com). "I didn't get out the starting blocks like I should, I didn't start properly, I was all over the track and the last part of the race I let everything get the best of me and slowed down." The 29-year-old, who was arguably the world's best sprinter between 2005-2007, has set his sight on finally capturing an elusive major games gold medal at the London Olympic Games. However, the sprinter has had somewhat of a disappointing start to the season having been beaten a few weeks ago by rejuvenated American Justin Gatlin in Doha. Powell clocked 9.88, just behind Gatlin's 9.87. Despite back-to-back losses in the event, the sprinter believes his preparations are on track for athletics' biggest showcase event. "My training is going very well, I'm very upset about this race, not that I lost but that I didn't get to execute as I wanted to. "My training is going very well, I know what I'm supposed to do and what I can do and the next race I hope I can put it on track and be satisfied." "I expect a better race [in Oslo], I'll go there to execute and I hope all goes well and I run a lot better." Interestingly, Powell should be on another early season collision clash with Bolt, who should also be running the 100m at the same event.
