Bolt expects to improve |

![]() Jamaica's Usain Bolt on his way to winning the men's 100m event at the Golden Gala athletics meeting in Rome on Thursday. Despite clocking an impressive 9.76 at the Rome Golden Gala meet yesterday, world's fastest man Usain Bolt expects there to be plenty of room for improvement as he continues his preparation for the London 2012. Coming off a poor performance in Ostrava last week, Bolt destroyed a competitive field, which included compatriot and former world-record holder Asafa Powell. Questions had been raised regarding the sprinter's form after he clocked a pedestrian 10.04 at the Czech Republic, but there could be very little doubt about his form on Thursday as following an average start, he caught up to the field by the 40-metre mark and simply pulled away. "I'm happy, but I'm just going to go home and call my coach so he can explain to me what I did wrong, what I did right and I'll look forward to the next race," Bolt told online publication gulfnews (http://gulfnews.com), "Overall it was a good race, last time I came here it was without a lot of races, but this time the execution was good," he said. One area that Bolt has identified for improvement is his start. The sprinter, standing at 6ft 4in, which can be a disadvantage coming out of the blocks, tends to be one of the slowest away, as was the case when he set and then broke his own world record at the 2008 Olympic Games Beijing and then at the 2009 Berlin World Championships. "That's always the biggest point of my race, I think it's all about consistency. The rest comes together if you get a good start." However, Bolt believes he is on the right path as he looks to defend his Olympic titles in both the 100m and 200m. "I think I'm getting there, it wasn't the perfect race, it had flaws but I just have to continue working on what's necessary."
