The St Andrew South police on Wednesday seized a Witness 9 mm pistol and a magazine on Waltham Park Road, Mongoose Town, Kingston 11.

According to the Hunts Bay police, about 8:45 a.m., a team of officers was on patrol in the area when they signalled the driver of a grey Toyota Corolla motor car to stop.

It is reported that the driver refused and occupants in the motor car opened fire at the police.

The men later managed to disembark the vehicle and ran on to several areas.

A premises was searched and the weapon was found.

No one was arrested in connection with the find.

The matter is being investigated.
