Court tries to find out if ... Man chopped for borrowed bed

A dispute over a bed landed two men in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court yesterday.

The accused, Daniel Lewis, who has been accused of chopping an elderly man during the dispute over the bed, has been charged with unlawful wounding.

Lewis is to return to court on July 16, when the matter will be mentioned as the file is incomplete.

The court heard that the accused borrowed the complainant's bed and didn't return it.

During a dispute over the bed, it is alleged that the accused chopped the complainant.

'Your Honour, him drop and cut himself. I didn't cut him," the accused told the court.

Lewis, whose bail has been extended, has pleaded not guilty.
