Garrison Youths win dancin dynamites |

![]() Hasani Walters, Star Writer On Sunday, explosions were plentiful inside Jamaica College's Karl Hendrickson auditorium as the final battle among contestants in the Dancin Dynamites competition ensued. When the dust settled, Garrison Youths emerged victorious, sending Endevarous and Iona High School home as second- and third-best, respectively, on the night. The first segment where groups danced to their own CD mixes was where the dancing warfare was most prominent. Each group cleverly attacked others in song and dance. This provided much entertainment for the audience as they seemed to enjoy the bantering very much. The 'music video segment' followed. In this segment, Baby Tash performed with Garrison Youths in an energetic set. Iona High School performed with T'nez, who did songs such as Same Yute and Silent River Run Deep, while doing a good job of keeping up with the dancers. Patexx and Endevarous provided thorough entertainment as the ANG artiste delivered partyWe Say, Cook, and Summertime. One dancer's impersonation of Bounty Killer in Summertime got the crowd's approval as people erupted in cheers. final showdown The final showdown segment where a fan chose one member from each team to face off with the two contestants from the other groups was a very energetic one. Contestants did freestyle dances to a slew of songs, each trying to outdo the other. The event's entertainment package was stocked with performances from entertainers like Aidonia, Stacious, Khago, and G-Whizz, who had the audience in a frenzy as they delivered some of their recent songs. Tony Garrison, a member of the winning group, spoke with The STAR saying, "We feel vindicated to know that we try so hard and our hard work pay off. When entering, our chances were very high because being repeat contestants, we know what the competition was all about, so we just bring it. We kept consistent right through." Judge Orville Hall told The STAR that he was extremely happy with the Dancin Dynamites season this year. He said that the competition has developed a good reputation and always lives up to that reputation, providing good-quality entertainment for Jamaicans. Co-host Weezy also shared similar comments.The female dancer, who was once a contestant in the competition, said that she was glad to have been brought on as a host and that her standout moment was the semi-finals, where the high school groups went up against the 'street groups'.
