Dancehall artiste Chino McGregor has released a song dedicated to 2010 Miss Jamaica Universe winner Yendi Phillipps. The song is called Miss Universe and is featured on Stephen McGregor's recently released Bassline rhythm.

The song comes after news broke in April that the beauty queen was pregnant with Chino's child.

The two later posted a video on YouTube.com confirming the pregnancy, and commenting on the backlash that Yendi received after the news broke in the media.

In the new song, Chino continues to refute the backlash from certain members of the public saying that people are trying to put a halt to their positive mobility. He also uses the song to profess his love for Yendi.

He sings, "from the fuss time mi si yu girl mi like yu, mi know sey mi and yu fi deh, mi know a mi fi wife yu, mek some gyal run up dem mouth dem nuh have it like yu, watch dem a patton yu style, dem wah fi be like yu ...".

He continued, "Miss Universe more life fi you mi search mi waah give yu couple youth fi nurse, Miss Universe, true wi a move forward dem wah see mi and you reverse, Miss Universe some gyal a real headache but baby girl yuh soothe mi nerves, Miss Universe wi love cement just like a concrete ... girl yu a mi heartbeat."

The STAR contacted Chino for a comment on the song and according to the artiste, his inspiration is obvious.

"The inspiration behind the song Miss Universe is quite obvious. It wasn't written, so to speak. I had the basic idea or concept and structure in my head prior to recording it, so recording time took approximately 30-45 minutes. There will definitely be a video shot very soon for Miss Universe as well as a follow-up single, entitled Be Around," he said.
