May Daze climaxes with '2013' tonight

Winston Sill - They were all dressed up and ready to have some fun at Appleton May Daze - short, shorts and short skits edition, held at West Kings House Road on Friday, May 11, 2012.

After five weeks of fun, frolic and excitement, Appleton May Daze will climax tonight with a mega party dubbed 2013.

The series which began on May 4 with Forbidden Fanstasy, continued on May 11 with Short Temper: Short Shorts vs Short Skirts and progressed to Bruk Out in Black: The 90s party on May 18. On May 25, May Daze did a Crazy Dress-up Fête called May-Hem and this Friday night it will be jumping forward to 2013.

Over the past four weeks, several of Jamaica's top DJs have controlled the wheels of steel at a new venue, Home Sweet Home, at 15 West Kings House Road in St Andrew. ZJ Johnny Kool and ZJ Ice delivered at the Forbidden Fantasy on May 4 while on May 11 Arif Cooper made it a super Short Temper party with ZJ Ice. DJ Marvin made the patrons Bruk Out on May 18 and DJ Narity, Super Styles and DJ Ash caused May-Hem on West Kings House Road, blazing the hottest tracks with the most ingenious mixes on May 25.

Jared Samuel, brand assistant at J Wray and Nephew Limited, says Appleton May Daze was the place to be since the start of May and the Finale will be a party like no other to start off the summer party season. Samuel says the party series was very popular among patrons: "We gave the patrons a great deal with specials every week and entertainment at a standard that ensured that persons continued to support the event. It is clear that May Daze, the fifth anniversary, was a massive hit and '2013' tonight will top it off."

For his part, a promoter of the event, Stephen Willie says May Daze was a major success: "So far, we have had four events and so far we have had four weeks of successful and fulfilled partying. The patrons came out and were thoroughly entertained, and we will be going all out tonight, presenting a party fit for 2013."
