![]() Jamaican Government sources last night said that all the necessary case files related to the Busy Signal extradition matter are in order and they expect to have the entertainer before the court on May 24. The artiste, whose real name is Glendale Gordon, was picked up at the Norman Manley International Airport immediately after he stepped off a flight from the United Kingdom. He had been on a tour in Amsterdam. "The extradition warrant was executed on him," an officer told THE STAR last night. According to reports, he was met on arrival by members of the Fugitive Apprehension Team, United States marshalls and representatives of the British High Commission. The artiste was reportedly travelling on a passport he had under the name, Reanno Gordon. He spent last night in the Gun Court Remand Centre on South Camp Road, St Andrew. Contacted last night, Director of Public Prosecutions, Paula Llewellyn, refused to shed light on the matter. However, well placed sources said that the request for Busy's extradition is unconnected to the arrest of former Tivoli strongman Christopher 'Dudus' Coke, as was being rumoured. Instead, the request for the deejay comes approximately 10 years after it is said that he was allegedly implicated in a narcotics offence committed in Minnesota. THE STAR had reported on November 22, 2011, that the popular deejay was being sought by United States (US) enforcement officers on drug- related allegations. A US enforcement officer had said that an extradition request was being prepared for the deejay. Busy is the the third Jamaican artiste to be arrested in recent times for drug related activities in the US. Previous to Busy's arrest, deejay Buju Banton and reggae artiste Denroy Morgan were held by US authorities.
