Senior Reggae Boy Omar Daley believes he and his teammates are capable of leading Jamaica to their first-ever victory over the USA at the senior level during this World Cup campaign, which is set to commence on June 8th.

The two countries have met on 17 previous occasions, with seven of the games ending in draws and the US winning the other 10.

The teams will lock horns twice in quick succession, as they are both drawn in Group A for the next round of World Cup qualifiers. Following matches against the other two members of the group, Guatemala and Antigua and Barbuda on June 8 and June 12, respectively, the Reggae Boyz will face the US at the Office on September 7, before journeying to the States for the return leg on September 11.

"Sometimes in life things can change and I just think this is the time that the USA are going to get beaten, I just have that feeling that Jamaica will do it this time," Daley told Star Sports.

"I think the overseas players and everyone is destined to be a part of that history by beating USA and qualifying the team for Brazil," he added.

Daley, who plays for Scottish club Motherwell, is cognisant of the talent within the US ranks, which includes the likes of Clint Dempsey and London Donovan, but he is not intimidated.

"We have Claude Davis, Ricardo Fuller and Omar Daley," the 31-year-old said.

"As a footballer, you don't sit and think about other players because it is just a matter of opportunity. What they can do, we can do even better; we are Jamaicans, we know we are special. That's how I view it," he added.

The very skilful player had 62 caps prior to the most recent friendly against Guyana and had scored seven goals.
