Firecrackers and illegal explosives seized

Over $400,000 worth of firecrackers and illegal explosives were seized this morning in an operation in downtown Kingston.

Reports from the Darling Street Police are that about 8:45 a.m., members of the Island Special Constabulary Force were on patrol in the Pechon Street area of downtown Kingston when they received information regarding illegal items in an abandoned building.

Upon making checks, several parcels containing firecrackers and other illegal explosive materials were discovered at the premises. No one was arrested in connection with the find.

Investigations continue.
