The destined prophet

Prophet O'Meal Reid

GEORGE HENRY, STAR Writer

Prophet O'Meal Reid believes he was born through the divine will of God. His story is that when his mother was in the advanced stage of pregnancy with him, his father went into a rage and chopped her 60 times with a machete.

"She died for three minutes, was revived and then she lived on to give birth to me," said Reid.

He grew up in the Inner-City environs of Three Miles, Kingston, and at some stage of his life he hardly had clothes; the best for him was hole-filled briefs. Food was a treasure to hunt for him, with a bag juice per day being his only meal most times. To make matters worse, he was sometimes neglected by both his parents.

It is said in the Bible that God will never leave his people to suffer; and so it was with Reid. Through the divine intervention of God, the way was opened for him to get to the United States of America (USA). There a new page began for him at age 12. It was his struggles up to that age which pushed him to Christ 16 years ago, and since then he has not looked back.

He received the opportunity to attend school, and more importantly, he went on to develop a relationship with God. Prophet Reid surrendered his life at that tender age and began to work in ministry. He started to preach the word of God at age 16; and his Maker allowed him to propel in the knowledge of His Word and was presented as God's Prophet to the Nations.

Although the church leader was going through his challenges, including being persecuted by the foreign media, Prophet Reid said he never backed down, but remained focused on the promises God made to him. He stood his ground through all what the media and people did to him.

"I have a strong prayer life, and prayer is my pasture. My ministry was born out of prayer," bragged Reid, who has been a choir member, an ordained youth minister, an evangelist, and now a prophet pastor over the past six years.

Reid told THE STAR that he has subsequently regained the respect of his community in Kissimmee, Florida, as God has already vindicated him. Churches all over the USA have opened their doors and pulpits to this church leader, and he has found favour with the media.

Reid currently operates strongly in the Prophetic anointing of God with the manifested revelation of the fruit of his prophecies. In 2005, he became senior pastor and founder of People From Every Nation Ministries, Inc, and the CEO of O'Meal Reid Ministries, Inc based in Kissimmee, Florida, USA.

personal testimony

Reid is the father of Omario and Omani Reid. He said he was unable to read and write at the age of 12, but has now become an author, penning the book Good News Report for which 45,000 copies have been sold to date. He is currently in the process of releasing three more books, one of which is entitled, Why did it happen to me, which according to him is his God-commanded book, in which one will also find his personal testimony.

"I am ready to reconnect with Jamaica, the land of my birth. I have been commissioned by God to do a work in Jamaica for the people of God. The soul of a man is the utmost passion of my heart; with a vision to take the Gospel to the world. As a Jamaican, in our motto 'Out of Many one People', I am standing for all nations, one language and serving the Kingdom of God, reaching souls," lamented Reid.

He pointed out that his ministry is a spiritual hospital for those who want change in their lives and those who are finding out that they cannot change themselves. He is convinced that only Christ can change mankind. He acknowledged that darkness must come out of man for him (man) to get into the marvellous light of the Lord Jesus Christ. His favourite Bible verse is Psalms 34 verse 11.
