Dancehall artiste Devina Burn is still making musical progress after being caught in the middle of a controversial Twitter rant involving an alleged ex-boyfriend recently.

According to the 17-year-old singjay who broke on to the dancehall scene with her collaboration on the Overproof Rhythm with Macka Diamond, her career has benefited from the controversy.

"My music is going good; we are doing a lot of work with various artistes, I am still working with Macka Diamond and the song is doing well right now," she said.

Burn told THE WEEKEND STAR that she is a strong woman and knows how to convert her negatives to positives.

"If anything, the effects (of the Twitter rant) would be in a positive way because my views on YouTube have gone up and my followers on Twitter have increased. There is nothing you can do about negatives except turn it around in a positive so that it is beneficial to you," Burn said. "I have developed my own strength, I don't depend on people for strength and I took what I went through and put it in a positive light so I would say I am a strong person."

While breathing a sigh of relief from the controversy which was popular on social networks, Burn revealed that she learnt to be cautious with whom she trusts.

"Throughout this whole thing, I learnt that you can't trust any movements not even yourself at times, we have to learn to be responsible for our actions because every action causes a reaction," she said.

Devina is gearing up to release her second clothing line called the Burn Line, which is a follow-up to her previous collection called ESEYE Wear.

She is currently working with local producers Great Whyte Entertainment who have produced her most recent single New Car.

The seemingly confident sinjay is also gearing up to perform in New York this summer, among other locations which she says are yet to be confirmed.

Burn made her first official appearance on the commercial dancehall scene in 2011 under the wings of veteran dancehall artiste Macka Diamond with their collaboration called You Like It.
