Recent investigations done by the police have led to the arrest of a man who the cops say travelled to the United Kingdom (UK) on several occasions in another man's name and got married to a British national.
The man, who appeared in the Corporate Area resident Magistrate's Court yesterday, in the name Mark Walker, has been slapped with several fraud charges. Walker has been charged with two counts of uttering forged documents, two counts of making a false declaration, two counts of forgery and possession of forged documents. He is to return to court on May 17, when he is to enter his plea. Meanwhile, Senior Resident Magistrate Judith Pusey has ordered that Walker should be fingerprinted. Allegations are that on March 13, the accused was arrested in relation to a gun matter and while in custody, the police found out that he was allegedly using the name Sheldon Kepple. The court heard that the accused was deported from the UK initially in the name Mark Walker, however, the accused allegedly took out a Jamaican passport in the name Sheldon Kepple and travelled to the UK on several occasions. The court also heard that the accused who had taken out a passport in the name Sheldon Kettle got married to a British national in the said name. The accused is being represented by attorneys, C.J Mitchell and Barry Frankson. |
