Blak Diamon makes his mark in Kenya |

Blak Diamon - Contributed Singer/songwriter Blak Diamon has been working assiduously, making a name for himself all over the world. In a recent article on a Kenyan website, he was compared to Kenyan dancehall act Redsan, it is said, is Blak Diamon's soundalike. Blak Diamon is elated about the comparison and feedback he has been getting from Kenyan fans about his music. "I have put in a lot of work in promoting my music, and I am extremely grateful for the love that has been shown to me," said the enthusiastic artiste. "The way you promote your artiste plays a vital role in the artiste's recognition," said Tanya Thelwell, manager of Blak Diamon. groundbreaking rhythms The entrepreneur and recording artiste has been involved in music for more than a decade. He and his brother, Anju Blaxxx, are owners of well-known record label Uptempo International Music (U.I.M), which has housed many of Jamaica's popular artistes such as Vybz Kartel and Popcaan, just to name a few. U.I.M is also responsible for the groundbreaking rhythms in Jamaica. The year 2011 was definitely an excellent year for Blak Diamon, as many of his singles were rotated heavily on the local and international airwaves. The singles included, The Boss on the 'Nymphomaniac' rhythm, Pree Mi Fah on the 'Klappas' rhythmproduced by U.I.M and Every Girl on the 'Lost Angel' rhythm produced by So Unique Records. creating a buzz In 2012, Blak Diamon's single, Take Me Away, on the 'Jouvert' rhythm,created a buzz, as it was rotated heavily during the carnival season. It is also a production of U.I.M. The artiste is also flying high, as the video for his single, Boasy Suh, is in the top ten of the Cross Caribbean Countdown chart on Tempo. The singer also anticipates a single to be released this summer with Tommy Lee of the Gaza family, which will be a production of TJ Records. The response has also been good for his single Diamond in the Ruff, a production of So Unique Records on the 'Aurora Skies' rhythm. Blak Diamon is also set to shoot videos for Life too Sweet, produced by U.I.M, and Close to me, on the 'Wakefield' rhythm, a Canadian Production. The artiste is also a pioneer in the weekly event, Bama's Thursday, held on Constant Spring Road. He is slated for various overseas shows later this year. |
