Star Tell Me Pastor

I need my share

Dear Pastor,

I am living with a man from I was 19, but he is my senior. I got pregnant by him in 1980 and I had my baby. We lived in his house in Kingston from we met until he died in 1988.

When he died, his will went missing. I reported the matter to the Administrator General from 1988 and, until now, the matter is still unfinished. When my child's father died, he was seven and he is now 32. I got a lawyer on my own and asked her to act on my behalf, because the Administrator General, I believe, wants me to die before I inheist my common-law husband's things.

They want to put me out of the house but that wouldn't happen because I prefer to go to prison before giving up. Pastor, when I went to live with this man, he was old and nobody would want such an old man. Everybody laughed at me and said, "Watch the gal with her father." While I was abroad the other day, his daughter moved in her kids and herself to the house and she never even lived there when her father was alive.

I would like to take it to court and for this thing to end right now. How much longer must I wait? I asked the Administrator General why it is taking so long and they said that they cannot find the boundary for the land. If the children's father had died leaving the house for his son, he would put me out already. His son lives in the United States and he has money. He also got all the money that the father had in his account because his name was also on it.

I am the one who took care of the man until he died. My name was on the death certificate and I also took him to the doctor. His son and his daughter didn't care about him. I just need my share to go.

Please tell me what to do. I am awaiting your reply.

M.C.

Dear M.C.,

You are alleging a lot of things. You have retained a lawyer and he should look after your interest. I suggest, therefore, that you address all your queries to him. It is taking a very long time for this matter to be resolved, but it will. It is your lawyer who should be talking to the Administrator General's Department.
