Woman steals from former employer

Guilty was the plea entered by a woman accused of stealing monies in excess of $100,000 from her former employer when she appeared before the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court yesterday.

Shauna-Lee Mattison of a Corporate Area address pleaded guilty to larceny as a servant and conspiracy and will return to court on May 29 for sentencing.

Mattison made partial restitution in the sum of $20,000 and is to pay the remainder when she returns for sentencing.

The court heard that while Mattison was employed to Quality Dealers Limited, she took the opportunity to steal $163,745.46 from her employer.

She managed to use only $60,000 because the remainder of the funds is currently frozen on her credit card account and will be transferred back to the complainant's account.
