Police investigate Catadupa shooting

The St James police say they are following strong leads into Saturday night's shooting incident in Catadupa which has left two men dead and another hospitalised.

Those dead are 37-year-old Kevin Brissett, otherwise called 'Red Head', and 25-year-old Garnett Powell of May Hall district in the parish.

It is reported that sometime after 10 p.m., patrons had gathered at a popular grocery shop in Catadupa when a gunman entered.

Further reports are that the man, who was wearing a wig, pulled a firearm and immediately opened fire. The man then escaped on a waiting motorbike, as patrons scampered for cover.

It was then discovered that three persons had been shot and they were rushed to hospital where Powell and Brissett were pronounced dead. The other victim has been admitted.

Investigations are ongoing.
