The police are advising members of the public to be on the lookout for counterfeit notes which they believe are now in circulation.

They have so far seized 10 $1,000 notes bearing serial number RW225393 and 16 $500 notes bearing serial numbers ZN566728 and ZR815675.

The notes were seized from three passengers who were plying the Montego Bay to Ocho Rios route about 11:15 a.m. yesterday during an operation.

The identities of these individuals are being withheld pending further investigations.

In the meantime, the police are advising members of the public to remain alert and contact them if any of these counterfeit notes are spotted. Members of the public may contact the Ocho Rios police at 974-2533, Montego Bay police at 684-9080, Crime Stop at 311, police 119 emergency number or the nearest police station.
