Talia Soares and Ashley Miller have been unveiled as the new hosts of the popular entertainment show 'Intense'. According to producer Sharon Schroeter, Soares and Miller were chosen because they stood out. "They stood out in terms of having all the qualities we were looking for. We got some real good girls but Ashley and Talia had that extra-special Intense spark," Sharon told THE WEEKEND STAR. Nineteen-year-old Soares, who described herself as "talkative, adventurous and fun", said she was shocked when she found out she was chosen as one of the hosts. "I was shocked but, at the same time, I knew, because I went in there with the mindset that I would give it my all, and I did my best. I feel really good that I accomplished this. I am very happy," she told THE WEEKEND STAR. The second-year law student at University of the West Indies said she almost missed her opportunity. "The producer couldn't get through to my phone. She sent me an email saying, she was trying to contact me and my phone was going straight to voicemail, so I called her and that's how I got the news," Soares said. Soares also said she was a bit nervous during Saturday night's show, but was elated with the outcome. "Hopefully, me being nervous didn't show on camera, but I am looking forward to more shows." Miller, on the other hand, described herself as "shy and mysterious". She told THE WEEKEND STAR when she was contacted she was sleeping. "I was sleeping when I got the call, so I wasn't sure if it was real. When it finally registered, I was really excited and I called everybody and told them." Both are pleased with the feedback they have been getting. According to Soares, "everyone was like, 'I didn't know you could talk so much'. I have been getting a lot of positive feedback and positive support. People are looking forward to what I have to offer, and I am grateful and I appreciate it." Miller also echoed similar sentiments. "I haven't heard anything negative yet. I'm actually looking for it but I haven't heard any negative criticisms yet," she told THE WEEKEND STAR. Schroeter informed THE WEEKEND STAR that the feedback, so far, has been mixed. She pointed out, however, that the girls were not in their full element. "They were only introduced on Saturday, they did not host," she said. She also stated that the show would be undergoing some changes. "Intense will be going through phases of change over the next couple weeks, new segments and a different flow. The hosts will be interacting with each other more and bringing a new intense vibe to the show." |
