Street dance promoter killed
The promoter of the popular street dance 'Safe Sex Sundays' which is held in Denham Town, Kingston, was shot dead yesterday, police confirmed.

Oneil Francis was shot and killed along Spanish Town Road near Denham Town.

Information reaching THE WEEKEND STAR is that about 12:30 p.m. the popular promoter was approached by armed men who opened fire hitting him all over his body.

Detectives from the Denham Town CIB were unable to provide further details on the incident, as the motive for the killing was still unknown and investigations were ongoing.

The police said their presence will be increased in the area in order to stabilise the community. "Absolutely no parties or events will be permitted in and around the Denham Town community until the matter is solved, and the place is back in order," an officer told THE WEEKEND STAR.

Denham Town residents appeared shock at the news of Francis' killing. People were seen congregating by the shops and on the corners at different sections of the community in clear discussions about the incident.

THE WEEKEND STAR managed to get an account from a senior citizen about Oneil. She said, "Oh God, Oniel a good youth, him too kind fi dem kill him like dat. A jus' recently him keep a party and give almost $100,000 to a golden age home".

Soon after, another young lady expressed, "Weh dem kill di youth for, Easter a come and the kids dem ago miss him because holiday time him take care of the kids in the community."

During the visit, THE WEEKEND STAR observed police and military movements in Denham Town and nearby communities.
