NEW YORK (AP):

Reigning Olympic 100 metres gold medallist, Jamaica's Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, and world champion Carmelita Jeter are set to clash in the 100 metres at the Adidas Grand Prix meet on June 9.

The race could be a preview of what's in store at the London Games, since both are among the favourites in track's signature event. The 32-year-old Jeter is coming off one of her best seasons, which was punctuated by her win at Worlds in Daegu, South Korea.

Kelly-Ann Baptiste of Trinidad and Tobago also will take part in the meet that's held on New York's Randall's Island.

World champion Yohan Blake of Jamaica will compete in the men's 100, while Jeremy Wariner, who's coming off a toe injury that sidelined him a good portion of last summer, tries to defend his 400 title.

Fraser-Pryce, 25, is the reigning Olympic gold medallist and 2009 World Champion at both 100 metres and the 4x100m. After finishing fourth, just one-hundredths of a second behind third-place Baptiste in Daegu, South Korea, last summer, Fraser-Pryce went on to run the first leg on the Jamaican 4x100m team that set a national record on the way to winning a silver medal.

On the men's side, Wariner is looking toward his third Olympics. The 28-year-old already has four Olympic medals: gold at 400 metres in 2004 and in the 4x400m in 2004 and 2008, and silver at 400m in 2008. He also owns five World Championships titles, including individual gold in 2005 and 2007, and has five times (2004-2007, 2010) been ranked No. 1 in the world.
