Contractor hopeful for single's success |
|||||
Contractor - File Prominent music consultant Sean Edwards is hopeful that the collaborative single 'Get the Money', which features Don Sniper and Canada-based reggae singer Lucci Gabana, will achieve greater success. This after the song debuted at Number 16 on the Top 40 Independent Chart and 44 on the National Airplay charts in North America recently. Edwards, better known as 'Contractor', told THE STAR that the single is also getting a fair rate of radio play locally, but revealed that he believes it will reap a lot of international success. Get the Money, which was produced by Canadian production company SQ Records, received over 800 spins in just its first week on Internet radio in 11 different states ranging from California, Georgia and Alabama. "So far, we've have experienced a great deal of success in a relatively short period. It's just over a week and the single is already blowing up the Internet charts in North America," said Edwards, who is in charge of marketing the track. He added that "Get the Money joins a list of superstars such as Adele, Bruno Mars and Katty Perry who are enjoying the benefits of a worldwide listenership. We hope to get to that level one day." The Internet radio chart report is release by Digital Radio Tracker, which is a broadcast company that tracks the rotation of songs on more than 5,000 Internet radio stations worldwide. A video for the single is also being planned and is scheduled to be shot in several parts of Jamaica and Canada in the next few days. |
