The St Catherine South police have arrested and charged one of three men who attacked and chopped a male student of a high school in St Catherine. Charged with felonious wounding is Francois Dawkins, 18, of Tawes Pen, Spanish Town, St Catherine. Reports reaching The Star are that on March 20, the boy was at school when he was attacked by three males. He was chopped on his head and right hand. The men ran from the scene but the traffic personnel accosted and held them. Investigation by Constable Damion Williams of the Central Village Police Station resulted in the accused being arrested and charged. Checks by The Star revealed that the incident stemmed from an incident the previous day when Dawkins was attacked . The accused was reportedly attacked and beaten at a shopping centre after being accused of being a 'One Order' supporter. It was further revealed that the matter was being dealt with by a community leader who asked for peace. Not being satisfied, the accused then went and attacked the schoolboy at his former school. The police have confirmed the school is suffering from students putting themselves as "young Clans and Young One Order". - R.T. |
