Ninja Man returns to musical ways |

CURTIS CAMPBELL, STAR Writer Controversial dancehall artiste Ninja Man is already recording dubplates for sound systems since being released on bail earlier this week. According to Ninja Man, he is working hard to return to his former glory. "I am in the studios doing some dubplates because I am trying to seal up myself in the music again. Nuff people a sey mi sound the same way like mi never guh nuh wey but mi a gwaan do some dubplates and work up myself to full form before mi record anything else," he said. According to the veteran clash artiste, freedom feels similar to when he got his first break in music. "Right now the thing tun up, the people dem glad fi know sey mi out, it feels like in the early 90s when mi just drop," he said. A grateful and excited Ninja Man also revealed that the first thing he did after being granted bail was "Give thanks and big up God because a him carry mi through. It nuh over yet but mi can see a little calmness in the storm." He also said that his first official recording will be a gospel song, because he is still in a thankful frame of mind. Ninja Man says he is on a more positive path and will not disappoint his fans again. "Mi fans dem miss mi, dem a pray three years worth a prayer fi mi, so I am going to serve the people like how they deserve to be served - it is going to be a full season. Mi nah come fi tek nobody place, only to play my part positively," he said. Adding, "Big up mi wife Nicole and my ex-wife Joy, they were there for me and my daughter Ninja Princess, she made me proud." Ninja Man's bail was set at $2 million with three sureties. He has been placed under curfew. The artiste is to report to the Oracabessa Police Station, St Mary, every day except Sundays, and is expected to return to court in July for trial. The artiste and his son Janiel Ballentine are jointly charged with the murder of Richard Johnson who was shot dead on March 16, 2009. |
