JC will peak at the right time

Orville Brown - Ricardo Makyn

AFTER pulling off a win last year, which was surprising to many fans, many saw Jamaica College as dominating the Championships for at least the next four to five years as they did so with a young team. However, so far this season they have yet to show their Championships mettle and many pundits see them losing their title to either Kingston College or Calabar. However, their head coach Orville Brown is not panicking and thinks his team will deliver at the right moment.

" Development meets are not Champs, these meets are used to help us prepare for the bigger picture. We will be ready when the right time comes, as we do not see the reason to come out every weekend and put on a grand show," said Brown.

It is a fact that many of the top athletes have hardly been seen on the track this season and one of those include defending 400 metres hurdles champion, Javaughn Gallimore, who is nursing an injury. In fact it has been rumoured that the Jamaica College team has been hit hard by injuries, but Brown insists it is nothing out of the ordinary.

"Like any other team, we have injury concerns and ours are not greater than anyone else's. People will be concerned about our athletes if they do not se them competing regularly, but we have to manage those well and the guys have recovered well."
