Danielle Thomas will be one Edwin Allen athlete who is expected to score high in the throwing events to help propel her team to victory at Champs next week and she is relishing the challenge.

"I want to help to ensure that Edwin Allen win the title this year and whenever I take the field for my events I will be extra motivated because we figured we should have won last year but we fell down. I want to ensure that we do not repeat," Thomas told Star Sports.

Thomas, despite it being her second season at the institution, is playing a very senior role as she is one of the athletes who helps to motivate the younger ones.

"My job is to ensure that the younger athletes are ready for the task ahead and I try my best to motivate them. At their level, they need a lot of motivation to perform at their best," she continued.

"I am very confident that I am going to do well in my events and I am really motivated because the competition among us is very tough. In my events, I have to compete really hard for my space on the team."
